Go Greener Australia is happy to host this week’s Carnival of the Green, a roundup of articles by some of the web’s most active and interesting green bloggers. It’s coordinated by Kara DiCamillo and Treehugger.
A big thankyou to the previous Carnival host, OnEarth. If you’d like to participate in next week’s Carnival, check out the submission guidelines.
Here’s this week’s contributions:
Taking stock of our consumer habits is important, especially if we’re trying to lead a green life. With everything we want and need at our fingertips, is choice really a good thing? Mrs Green over at Little Green Blog wonders: does too much choice make us happy, or is it paralysing our decisions? She’d love to hear your thoughts!
Baboons are the most widespread primate in Africa, but the Cape subspecies of the Chacma baboon is predicted to be extinct within 10 years. Sally Kneidel has a really interesting post about the Chacma baboons’ matrilineal society, with lots of pics! Learn what you can do to protect endangered primates.
Marie Snyder at Project Earth has a funny rant, Eco-Housework: Any takers? Seems like her kids are finding new reasons to not help clean up!
Leila at Everyday Trash reflects on how saving the planet is linked to the other green movement - she points out some surprising links between trash and the slow march towards a democratic Iran. Thanks, Leila, for such a thoughtful post.
Now let’s look at a few tips and tricks:
How to reuse greeting cards at MyZeroWaste; How to make your windows more energy efficient at Interior Design Info; How to get real resolutions at Guffly; and How to make ordinary things last longer at Frugal Tips.
Best green tweets:
@SallyKneidel writes about BPA exposure in the womb causing behavioural change in kids
@AlexSteffen writes “200 yrs ago, only a handful of Europeans had seen Puget Sound; 100 yrs ago, no one here had a car; 50 yrs ago, one third as many people.”
@LisaBorden lets us know where we can learn to fill our stomachs, not the landfill.
There weren’t many tweets submitted since the last Carnival - I guess we were all recovering from the holidays! Remember to tag your clever, witty or useful green tweets with #bestgreentweets when you post on Twitter if you want them featured in next week’s Carnival.
That’s all for now, folks - thanks to everyone who contributed to the Carnival!

Great carnival - thanks for including my submissions and for taking the time to host it; I’m going to browse some of the other entries now.
happy new year to you and your readers
Warm wishes
Mrs Green
